PKClub CrossGym – Venlo | Boxing

Boxing can have a positive effect on people with acquired brain injury (ABI), both physically and mentally. It is an intensive workout that improves overall fitness, increases concentration and increases endurance. In addition, boxing can help improve fine motor skills and strengthen self-confidence.

Boxing with a disability encompasses any form of boxing adapted to accommodate individuals with physical, intellectual, or other impairments. This can include para-boxing, which utilizes specific rules and regulations to ensure fair and safe competition for athletes with disabilities, as well as inclusive boxing programs designed for people with various learning difficulties or other impairments.

Exercise ensures that new brain cells are created (neurogenesis). Exercise also stimulates the growth of the number of connections between brain cells and it promotes the possibility that parts of the brain take over functions from other parts of the brain.
